If you’ve seen headlines about “Jio AI” lately, you might be wondering which product they actually mean. A call assistant? Smart glasses? A cloud computer? The honest answer is all of them, and a few more. As far as we could find in the reporting, Reliance Jio hasn’t launched one single app called Jio AI. It has announced a whole family of AI products, and they are at very different stages: one is live and on sale, a couple are only announced, and one has only been shown on a stage.
So we went through the coverage of Reliance’s annual meeting in June, the India Mobile Congress in October, and a few other launches, and sorted everything by what you can actually use today. This is current as of October 21, 2026. One note up front: we haven’t tested any of these products ourselves, so everything here comes from what Reliance has said and what reporters have written.
The short version
- Live now: JioPC, a cloud computer you rent by subscription. Since September 2, it’s open to anyone in India with an internet connection, not only Jio customers.
- Live offer: A free 18-month Google AI Pro plan for eligible Jio users, claimed through the MyJio app. Eligibility has changed since it started, so check the app.
- Announced, “later this year”: Jio Call Agent and an AI-powered MyJio app. We couldn’t find a firm launch date or confirmed pricing.
- Showcased: Jio AI Glasses, shown at India Mobile Congress 2026. The coverage we read gave no price or release date.
- Unveiled: TeleFrame, a home display with AI agents, plus a set of AI apps for health, learning, farming, and small business.
Why Jio is pushing AI so hard
Jio isn’t new to big bets. Its cheap data plans changed how India uses the internet, and now Reliance wants to repeat that with AI. In January, Mukesh Ambani said Reliance would launch an AI platform built in India, aimed at letting people use AI in their own language on their own device. He said the company is building India’s largest AI-ready data center in Jamnagar with the goal of affordable AI for every Indian.
The money behind it is large. According to TechCrunch, Reliance announced plans earlier this year to invest $110 billion in AI infrastructure, and it works with Google, Meta, and Nvidia. It also set up a subsidiary called Reliance Intelligence last year to build AI infrastructure and services, including apps that support 22 Indian languages. In June, Reliance announced a collaboration with Meta to build an AI data center in Gujarat.
Here’s our opinion on why this matters: Jio’s real advantage isn’t a single clever model. It’s distribution. It owns the network and the SIM card in more than 500 million pockets, so it can put AI in front of people without asking them to download anything. That’s what makes the next product interesting.
Jio Call Agent: AI inside your phone calls
The headline product from the June annual meeting is Jio Call Agent. The idea is simple. During a normal phone call, you say “Hey Jio,” and an AI assistant joins the conversation. Reports say it can transcribe the call in real time, identify speakers on conference calls, write summaries, and create reminders and action points. It can also do things mid-call, such as booking a cab, ordering food, or reserving a table, without making you hang up and switch apps.
A few details stand out:
- It runs inside Jio’s network. There’s no app to install and no extra number to save, so in theory it works on any phone with a Jio SIM.
- Consent is part of the design. Reports say the agent joins only after the people on the call agree to it.
- Language support is broad. Reports mention support for 22 Indian languages.
- Jio says phone calls have been left out of the AI wave. The company says it handles about 20 billion voice minutes a day.
Now the part you need to know: as of the reports we read, Reliance said Call Agent would launch “later this year” for its 500-million-plus users, but it hasn’t given a firm date. Some outlets describe the service as free, while others say pricing hasn’t been announced. Those reports disagree, so treat the price as unconfirmed until Jio publishes it. Also, some websites wrote headlines saying Jio “launches” the Call Agent. Based on the coverage, it was announced, not released.
An AI-powered MyJio app
Reliance also announced a new version of the MyJio app that can do tasks for you when you ask in natural language. TechCrunch gives examples such as activating an eSIM or choosing a roaming plan. Some outlets describe it as a free personal concierge for Jio subscribers. Like the Call Agent, it was announced with a “later this year” timeline.
We think this is the most practical piece of the whole plan. Most people don’t want a chatbot. They want to fix a plan or a bill without waiting on hold.
JioPC: the one you can use today
JioPC is the only major product in this group that you can buy right now. It streams a virtual computer from Jio’s cloud to the device you already own. Jio first launched it in July 2025, and on September 2, 2026 it opened the service as a stand-alone subscription for anyone in India with an internet connection, regardless of telecom or broadband provider.
According to TechCrunch, here’s what it offers:
- Plans start at ₹1,000 for two months.
- A 12-month plan costs ₹4,000 for 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage.
- A 12-month plan with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage costs ₹5,000.
- The top plans offer up to eight virtual CPUs.
Jio says even a computer as old as eight years can use it to run modern AI applications without any hardware upgrade.
Before you rush to subscribe, the same report raises some fair points. JioPC needs a stable internet connection, and any disruption affects the experience, unlike a regular computer that works offline. Analysts quoted by TechCrunch also noted that Indians have traditionally preferred owning their hardware, and that refurbished PCs are a strong low-cost competitor. Jio also hasn’t published much about the hardware behind the service, and the specifications it has shared don’t mention dedicated AI accelerators.
Our take: JioPC could be a good fit for a student or a small household with an old computer and reliable broadband. If your internet drops often, a cheap refurbished PC may be the safer choice.
Jio AI Glasses: shown, not sold
At India Mobile Congress 2026 in New Delhi, Jio showed a range of personal AI wearables, including camera glasses, audio glasses, and earphones. The features on display included an AI voice assistant, live translation between Indian languages, AI note-taking, and live cricket commentary.
The feature that got the most attention is Scan & Pay. The glasses scan a UPI QR code, and you start the payment with your voice. A confirmation is still part of the process. According to MobiGyaan, the feature uses UPI Circle, which allows up to ₹5,000 per transaction and ₹15,000 per month, and those limits come from UPI Circle rules rather than from Jio.
The important caveat is that this was a showcase. The report we read didn’t mention a price or a launch date, so don’t plan a purchase yet.
TeleFrame and the new IQ apps
Two more things were unveiled at the June meeting.
TeleFrame is a home display that uses AI agents to surface things like weather alerts, schedules, and household reminders without being asked, according to TechCrunch. ETV Bharat describes it as a voice-first agentic AI operating system that brings Jio’s AI agents together.
The IQ apps are AI services built for specific needs. ETV Bharat lists five: JioBharat IQ, AI Vyapar, JioHealth IQ, JioLearn IQ, and JioKrishi IQ. TechCrunch says they cover healthcare, education, agriculture, and small businesses and are designed to work in multiple Indian languages. The reports we read didn’t explain how or when each one will be available to the public.
The free Google AI Pro offer
This isn’t a Jio-built product, but it’s the easiest way for many Jio users to try serious AI today. Under a partnership between Reliance Intelligence and Google, eligible Jio users can get Google’s AI Pro plan free for 18 months. The plan was valued at ₹35,100 when the offer was announced in late October 2025.
Here’s what reports said at launch:
- The first wave was for Jio users aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans starting at ₹349.
- You claim it in the MyJio app by tapping the “Claim Now” banner.
- The free access lasts as long as you stay on an eligible Jio unlimited 5G plan.
- At launch, the plan included Gemini 2.5 Pro with Deep Research and 2TB of cloud storage.
Reliance said the offer would expand to every Jio customer nationwide, and Free Press Journal later reported that it was extended to all users. We couldn’t confirm whether new claims are still open today, so look for the banner in your MyJio app. If you want to know how Google’s newest model compares with its rivals, we covered it in our Gemini 4 Argon explainer and our comparison of ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude.
The privacy questions worth asking
Putting AI into calls, apps, and your living room means a lot of personal data. TechCrunch reported that Reliance said the services would work with user consent, but it didn’t answer questions about whether data from these products could be used to train AI models or be shared with technology partners.
That doesn’t mean anything bad is happening. It means the questions are still open. Before you turn any of these on, check what the product says about recording, storage, and data sharing. For Call Agent in particular, remember that other people are on your calls, and their consent matters too.
What we’d do right now
This is our opinion, based on the reporting and not on testing:
- If you’re a Jio user, check MyJio for the Google AI Pro banner. It’s the lowest-effort way to try a premium AI plan, as long as you’re eligible.
- Wait for Call Agent’s price and privacy terms before you rely on it. A firm date and a clear policy matter more than the demo.
- Treat JioPC as a trial. Start with the cheapest two-month plan, test it on your own internet connection, and compare it with a refurbished PC.
- Don’t plan around the glasses yet. No price, no date.
- Ignore “launched” headlines. If a site says a Jio AI product has launched, check whether you can actually sign up for it.
FAQ

Is Jio Call Agent free? Reports disagree. Some call it free, while others say pricing hasn’t been announced. Treat it as unconfirmed.
How much does JioPC cost? Plans start at ₹1,000 for two months. A 12-month plan is ₹4,000 for 8GB of RAM and 500GB of storage, or ₹5,000 for 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
Can anyone use JioPC? Yes. Since September 2, 2026, it’s open to anyone in India with an internet connection, not only Jio customers.
Are the Jio AI Glasses on sale? No. They were showcased at India Mobile Congress 2026, and the report we read didn’t give a price or a release date.
Do Jio users get free Google AI Pro? Eligible users could get 18 months free through the MyJio app. Eligibility started with users aged 18 to 25 on unlimited 5G plans and was later reported to have expanded, so check the app for your status.
Final thoughts
The most useful way to read Jio’s AI push is to separate the demo from the product. Right now, JioPC is the only item you can pay for and use, and the Google offer is the easiest freebie. Call Agent could be the biggest of them all because it needs nothing but a SIM card, but it’s still waiting for a date, a price, and clear privacy rules.
We’ll keep watching. If Jio announces a launch date for Call Agent, that will be the moment this story becomes real for hundreds of millions of people.
